The exhibition will showcase many of the world's leading travel retail brands spanning cosmetics, fragrances, fashion, food, tobacco, wines and spirits, including Campari, Bulgari, Clarins Group, Chanel, Ferrero and Longchamp. Among the brands making their debut in Cannes are Crocs, Loewe, Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite, Eau Thermale Avène, Bioderma, Anua, Molinari, Atyab Al Marshoud and A L'Olivier.

Conference line-up

Kicking off the event, the TFWA World Conference takes place on Monday 28 September under the theme Shaping the World of Travel Retail. TFWA President Sarah Branquinho will open the conference with her state of the industry address; she will be joined by David McWilliams, Gilles Roucolle and Charles Duhigg to share their perspectives on the forces underpinning the industry. The conference will be moderated by Stephen Sackur.

A workshop programme will bring together leading experts to examine the trends, challenges and opportunities. On Tuesday 29 September, Pierre-Alexandre Koch and Denise van Wijk of Oliver Wyman will present findings from an exclusive TFWA study on opportunities for customer growth, while Marina Giuliano of Amadeus will explore the forces reshaping global mobility and where the next wave of travel demand could emerge.

On Wednesday 30 September, Anna Marchesini of m1nd-set will examine changing traveller behaviours and opportunities for growth in fashion, followed by Victor Dijon and Alex Liu of Kearney, who will present findings from an exclusive TFWA study on how AI can turn consumer data into growth.

TFWA Start up Day is back on Thursday 1 October 2026. Alongside TFWA’s partner, Mondelez International World Travel Retail, solutions and services companies such as Altavia Travel Retail, blynk, CXG, DWS, Illuminete x Trinax and Voiceback Analytics will present their innovations.

Purpose-driven initiatives

Alongside its business programme, TFWA is reinforcing its commitment to social impact through two purpose-driven initiatives. Delegates will be invited to support The Moodie Davitt Report’s #KickCancerThon, a fundraising campaign for cancer research and awareness inspired by the late Sinead Moodie, by cycling on stationary bikes installed in front of the Palais des Festivals. Collectively generated kilometres cycled will convert to financial contributions from TFWA to the cancer research programme at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.

Additionally, the Yes We Cannes! Handisport initiative will promote inclusion and accessibility through adaptive sports activities.

Qatar Duty Free returns as the main partner of the TFWA Lounge networking space. Brand partners, including Haribo, Heineken, Lakrids by Bülow, Liviko Crafter’s, Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail (presenting its Drink More Water campaign), Pringles, Santa Margherita, Seeberger, Storck, Walker’s Shortbread and Wonderful Pistachios, will also contribute to the Lounge experience.

MCM turns up the volume with Disco Visetos

As it celebrates its 50th anniversary, German luxury brand MCM has introduced a bold reimagining of its signature monogram inspired by its disco roots in Munich in the 1970s.

“Disco Visetos brings playful energy to bags, small leather goods, and beyond,” MCM said.

MCM Disco Visetos

Animated lines pulse across the motif in vibrant colourways, capturing the rhythm and movement that defined the disco era.

Across ready-to-wear and silk accessories, Disco Visetos takes on a subtler expression: a diamond-inspired print, designed to complete the look with the same retro-futuristic feel.

Also for Autumn/Winter 2026, MCM has unveiled the Nylon Family. Crafted from recycled nylon, the new line introduces expandable silhouettes designed to transform effortlessly between compact functionality and enhanced capacity.

Balancing versatility with a sleek, modern finish, each piece offers a refined approach to travel and life in motion.

The collection combines water-resistant fabrics with lightweight performance and exceptional durability.

Also new is the Quilted Leather Travel Line, where softness meets structure. Made in Italy from premium nappa, the new quilted leather offers a silky smooth feel with lasting durability. Padded and stitched into the brand’s iconic diamond pattern, the texture creates a supple, softly sculpted effect.

The Aren Backpack features organisation-friendly compartments, while the versatile Aren Crossbody can be worn across the shoulder or as a hand-held pouch.

The brand continues to strengthen its ESG performance through responsible sourcing, a 21% reduction in emissions, comprehensive supplier due diligence and ESG audits, alongside global volunteering initiatives that support environmental and social impact, Positive Luxury said.

MCM has unveiled its 50th Anniversary Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, celebrating this milestone through the lens of Munich’s culture and music, blending cutting-edge materials with futuristic styling.

Described as retrospective yet futuristic, the collection highlights studded silhouettes and innovative leather goods reflecting the brand’s fusion of art, tech and travel.

MCM's cinematic campaign for Autumn/Winter 2026

The collection redefines nomadic luxury through retro-futuristic styles built around a rich autumnal colour palette. With a selection of lightweight and transitional mid-season pieces along with cold-weather essentials such as warm jackets, this collection is perfect for layering to create classy outfits for men and sophisticated clothing for women.

For the launch of the new collection, MCM unveils a cinematic campaign exploring individuality, connection and the emotional rhythm of modern life through intimate moments and the beauty of being together.

MCM Autumn/Winter 2026 Aren Sling Bag

Set inside the MCM Haus, the campaign centres on a family of distinct personalities. “As a son returns bearing gifts selected with remarkable precision, the story unfolds through micro-moments, understated humour and a carefully composed visual language,” said the German luxury brand.

Directed by Lucio Castro and photographed by Luna Conte, the campaign balances emotional subtlety with quiet sophistication.

MCM marks its half-century with little luxuries

German brand MCM is continuing to celebrate its 50th anniversary with additions to its fragrance line and luxury collectibles.

Described as “an avant-garde collaboration between two Munich institutions”, the MCM 50th Anniversary Diamond Cup is a limited-edition piece handmade by the master artisans of Porzellan-Manufaktur Nymphenburg in Munich.

MCM x Nymphenburg 50th Anniversary Diamond Cup

Rooted in Munich craftsmanship, the handcrafted porcelain cup has clean Bauhaus lines and is finished with a signature Visetos sleeve.

Since its founding in 1747 as the official factory of the Bavarian royal family, Nymphenburg has preserved the high art of porcelain through traditional techniques cultivated over generations.

In collaboration with @nowness, a film directed by Felipe Sanguinetti called Formed from Heritage reveals the quiet intensity behind this process – “a study of craft, time and the human touch that defines true luxury”, MCM said.

MCM Cosmic Star fragrance

In other news, Cosmic Star Eau de Parfum (75ml) is the latest addition to the MCM fragrance universe, presented in a White Stark Backpack glass bottle with gold-tone hardware.

“Cosmic Star transports your senses on an intergalactic journey through juicy pear, sweet florals and velvety vanilla,” said the company.

The women’s gourmand floral fragrance contains top notes of pear, muguet (lily of the valley) and coconut water. The heart is powered by the fresh florals of white iris, freesia and gardenia, while the base notes are vanilla, white chocolate and oakmoss.

Finally, in retail news, the new MCM Lifestyle Store has opened in Bangkok, bridging cafe culture and clean, Bauhaus-inspired design. The space is located on the ground floor of the EmQuartier shopping mall.

MCM celebrates 50th anniversary in new campaign

MCM is marking five decades in fashion with a year-long campaign heralding a series of exciting initiatives, including a fresh logo.

The newly designed logo for MCM's 50th anniversary campaign

The German luxury brand is launching the global Icons Reinvented initiative in which some of MCM's best-known designs will be reinterpreted, including the iconic Stark Backpack, the Liz Shopper, the Ella Boston Bag and the Ottomar Weekender.

These models embody the concept of Smart Luxury – a form of luxury that MCM describes as timeless, mobile and responsible. The new interpretations focus on lightweight constructions, hands-free functionality, modular interiors and flexible forms that adapt to different situations and settings. Sustainability and longevity are central to the designs, all of which follow the Bauhaus design principle of form follows function.

Heritage brand ambassador Herbert Lieb muses on MCM in a campaign video

The special campaign is accompanied by a newly designed anniversary logo, inspired by archival motifs and the Roman numerals found throughout its birthplace: Munich. And in a campaign video, MCM’s heritage brand ambassador Herbert Lieb – a long-time employee who worked for the brand for 40 years – provides insights into the history of the house and the brand.

Founded during the Golden Age of Munich in 1976, MCM has evolved in line with cultural movements, from Munich's creative underground in the 1970s and hip-hop culture in New York in the 1980s and 1990s, to the global popularity of K-pop since the 2000s.

MCM celebrates 50 years of craftsmanship

Sung-Joo Kim, Chief Visionary Officer of MCM, reflects on the brand's ability to look to the future: "For 50 years, MCM has been focused on evolving. Our heritage does not belong to the past – it belongs to the future."

The 50th anniversary celebrations span Europe, the US and Asia, uniting fashion, music, design, sport and contemporary culture. MCM boasts a global community of Mavericks – creatives, entrepreneurs and cultural protagonists who define their identity through movement and individuality.

Stay tuned!

MCM: The art of motion in fashion

For Milan Fashion Week 2025, MCM placed motion at its core. Inspired by Taekwondo’s codes of respect and balance, the German luxury brand wove martial artistry into modern design. An exhibition at Casa degli Artisti marked another milestone on MCM’s path to its 50th anniversary.

Taekwondo inspiration: MCM at Milan Fashion Week 2025

Taekwondo’s values of respect, balance and flow combined with cosmic undertones to centre the exhibition’s narrative, MCM said.

A holographic projection by Capsa Studio, along with a motion-sensing digital display of the latest MCM motif – a rabbit-robot hybrid called the Rabot – illuminated the space, guiding visitors to explore the runway-exclusive pieces.

For the looks, MCM's Chief Brand Officer Dirk Schönberger translated martial codes into sculptural silhouettes.

MCM's Rabot rabbit robot takes pride of place among the new bags

Belts folded into dresses, knots shaped mini-dresses, and trousers carried the calm intensity of the Taekwondo masters. Bomber jackets and tailored blazers echoed discipline while embracing fluidity.

Alongside the exclusives, MCM previewed its latest bag collection. Featuring bold colours and the Rabot rabbit robot, these styles offered a glimpse into MCM’s next era of innovation.

Spotlight on the MCM community

The presentation opened in true party style: cocktails, beats by New York DJ Malik Hendricks, and a vibe that transformed Casa degli Artisti into the IT scene. The energy was electric as guests celebrated, connected and danced through the night.

Guests, creators and MCM Mavericks joined the party, reflecting the global community that inspires the brand.

"Their attendance underscored MCM’s dialogue with a community shaping contemporary and digital culture," the company enthused.

Swaine accelerates its global expansion

Swaine is set to expand internationally to meet the growing demand for quiet luxury.

Adding to its London flagship in New Bond Street, the brand is joining UK department store Harrods. A dedicated corner within the luxury menswear collection showcases its three iconic lines: leather goods, umbrellas and hats.

Swaine, a symbol of British luxury since 1750, is continuing its international expansion, starting this Summer with a corner at the prestigious Hotel Palace in Montreux, Switzerland.

And in Autumn 2025, Swaine will reach a new milestone by opening its first US location in Beverly Hills, at the heart of Los Angeles' luxury district.

Swaine's London flagship store

The US represents Swaine’s largest and most dynamic market and is a major driver of growth and brand influence. This opening also reinforces the brand’s deep connection with the film industry, just steps from Hollywood. The boutique will feature an exclusive selection that blends iconic on-screen pieces, timeless classics, bespoke offerings and a capsule collection of small leather goods available only in Los Angeles.

In addition to these openings, Swaine has launched a series of trunk shows. The first took place in Monaco in September, followed by a second edition in February 2026 at Badrutt’s Palace in St Moritz.

Carine de Koenigswarter, President of Personal Goods at Swaine's Paris-based owner Compagnie Chargeurs Invest, said: “Swaine’s development is part of a long-term investment strategy. Over the past few years, Swaine has strengthened its offering for women, men, the home and the art of living. In parallel, the establishment of new workshops in England has reinforced its exceptional craftsmanship and its ability to showcase the finest materials in leather goods, hats and accessories.”

Swaine's London flagship store

A lifestyle brand

Reflecting the spirit of Swaine’s reinvention as a lifestyle brand, this targeted expansion is “cost-conscious and not driven by a race for scale. Rather, it embodies a meticulous approach, offering high-quality touch-points dedicated to serving our clients”, de Koenigswarter said.

“The trunk shows we are launching will extend the experience of our flagship store – a privileged encounter with bespoke craftsmanship, even far from New Bond Street.

“This commercial strategy is designed to leverage the very specific interest of affluent consumers in quiet luxury brands – those that are discreet rather than ostentatious, valued for their creativity, authenticity and exceptional quality."

The invitation-only trunk shows offer an immersive experience into the world of Swaine, presenting made-to-measure pieces to international clients and partners.

MCM blends retro-futurism with utility for Fall

MCM has launched the next chapter of its From Munich to Mars journey for Fall/Winter 2025 with a collection crafted for Cyber-Galactic Nomads on the move.

Blending retro-futurism with utility, it fuses bold silhouettes, fresh materials and forward-thinking colour with the German brand’s signature design language. Driven by a vision of freedom and motion, it reimagines identity – on Earth or beyond.

MCM Herringbone Visetos FW25

The third and final chapter brings the journey full circle with a refined return to MCM’s heritage. Cognac Visetos re-emerges, now embossed with gold-toned herringbone weaves that add both texture and a subtle architectural edge. Striking a balance between softness and structure, this drop blurs the line between statement and staple by providing a futuristic nuance to tradition.

MCM Khaki Moss Visetos FW25

The second chapter grounds the collection in earthy tones, with khaki green anchoring the monogram across signature silhouettes like the Stark Backpack and Toni Shopper. Crafted from sustainable materials such as upcycled leather, recycled nylon and soft suede, this drop expands the range with new iterations of the Gym Backpack and Mama Bag, blending elevated design with everyday functionality.

MCM Blue Denim Visetos FW25

The first drop in the collection transforms MCM’s classic Visetos through a futuristic lens, introducing vibrant Blue Visetos and tactile Blue Denim Visetos – colours inspired by the energy of the deep sea and outer space. Featured across weekenders, multibackpacks and more, Blue Denim adds rich texture, while Blue Visetos brings a bold, electric edge.

Directed by Katharina Korbjuhn and shot by Yis Kid, the Cyber-Galactic Nomads campaign presents a futuristic vision where style intersects with technology, architecture and AI.

“Blurring the line between real and rendered, it explores how identity, motion, and self-expression evolve in an increasingly technological world where individuality is the ultimate statement,” MCM said.
